"More Wrong" - 1st Spline Pass

I'm not sure if anyone looks at these, but it helps me if I post a video when I hit a milestone. :) I've done a spline pass for all three shots. I've still got a lot of polishing to do, but I've been looking at it too long, and I'd like some crits before I get too much further along. Comments and feedback are much appreciated!!! The line is from the TV show "The Big Bang Theory."

Ice Age Reel!!!

Here it is! My reel from Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs! These shots are what I completed during my 6 weeks as a temp animator at Blue Sky Studios. All clips are copyright Twentieth Century Fox. I am responsible for all character animation in the shots except for the following:
Shot 1: “This is my kind of place” - Only animated Diego and Manny; NOT Buck.
Shot 5: “Plates of Whoa” - Only animated the part where Buck is drawing; NOT the falling plates.
Shot 6: “I never thought of going back” - Only animated the background characters; NOT Buck

Thief! - Final!!!

Wow, what a crazy summer. This has been a long time coming, but I'm finally done with the Thief shot! Thanks to everyone who gave advice and critiques! (I am still open to feedback for this shot even though it's final.) So here it is, in all it's rendered glory:

So, it's been a while, but here's an update to my shot. I've finished refining the spline pass and am posting it for comments and critique. I need to go back in for another polish pass, but I've been watching it waaaayyyyy too many times, and I can't tell what I like about it or not anymore. Advice is always very much appreciated!

The website for the LeapFrog hardware I've been working on at Chewy Software is up! Introducing Zippity. I did most of the animation for the Little Einsteins game that's included with the system.

Blue Sky Studios

Starting Monday, I will be working at Blue Sky Studios as a temp animator for Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs!!! I am really excited; this is going to be a great experience!

Chewy Soft

I currently work at Chewy Software as a Flash animator. I mainly work on educational games for preschoolers for LeapFrog systems. Some of the games we've created include characters from Nickelodeon and Disney. I started working at Chewy last January, so unfortunately none of the game I've worked on are on the website. Here are some games that have been released. I did all the animation for Go Diego Go, and some animation in Puppy Pals.

11 Second Club

The 11 Second Club is this great website where animators can download a sound file each month, then upload the animations they create using the sound file. At the end of the month users vote on all the entries.

I submitted entries to the competition two months this fall. In September my animation got 2nd place, and in October my animation got 5th place! To see my animations larger on my website, check out "You Killed Him?" and "Monotony."

FJORG!!!

I figured I'd better do a little retro-blogging.



This past August at Siggraph in LA, I competed in an incredibly amazing competition called FJORG! (with a silent 'j' like forge) I was on the team "the Fjantastic Fjorgers" with my awesome teammates Sean Coleman and Brad Bradbury. We hadn't even met before the competition, yet we worked together well and are now good friends. You can learn more about fjorg and see all the films at the fjorg website. There is also a short documentary that explaining how the competition worked and showing all the fun we had. You can see a larger version of our film on my website here.

Not only was this an incredible experience, but our team's fjinal fjilm tied for second place!!! As part of our prize, we got to visit Disney Animation and DreamWorks Studios.

Fjorg was probably the most amazing animation experience of my life, and I am so glad to have been a part of it.
